This project involved the full refurbishment and extension of the ground floor of a beautiful farmhouse situated in the heart of the countryside near Rushton Spencer near Macclesfield.
The Client wanted to demolish existing conservatories and replace them with rooms more in-keeping with the buildings characteristic feel. This included a new Porch, Sun Room and Dining Room.
The existing garage was to be stripped-out, insulated and fitted-out as a new Kitchen, opening up to the higher-level Lounge, and separated by a new twin sided fireplace housing a double-fronted log burner.
Given the building’s age, the limited height available by the cottage-style ceiling presented some challenging design hurdles, which were overcome by concealing steels within the first floor structure overhead to maximise the height at new openings.
This was a fantastic project to be involved in, and working closely with the Builders and Structural Engineer a successful design was delivered which was approved by Building Control for construction.
